Wake Intellectual Property Student Association

The Wake Forest Intellectual Property Association (WIPSA) is committed to educational activities relating to the study of intellectual property law. This includes the study of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets across all economic sectors.

Intellectual Property is one of the most exciting and fastest growing areas of legal practice. This fact is due primarily to the quickened pace of economic development through the internet age. Moreover, the complexity of intellectual property issues has also been expanded by the accelerating trend of globalization. Rarely has there been a more exciting time to study intellectual property law.

In addition to being one of the fastest growing areas of legal practice, intellectual property is one of the most essential because it is at the heart of economic life. For example, intellectual property law would be a consideration for groups as diverse at health care law reformers, musicians, or investment bankers.

We hope that all students, regardless of their field of interest, will join us as we explore the exciting and essential topic that is intellectual property law.
